Those of you who frequent Minds in Bloom have probably noticed that we have gotten a long overdue blog make-over! The new look is cleaner, but still bright and fun. I told my blog designer (Alexis from Laugh Eat Learn (who was fabulous to work with) that I wanted Minds in Bloom to feel like springtime. I also embraced a new tagline: Minds in Bloom: Because Learning Should be Fun! Look for future posts that help will you to put more fun into your classroom.
If you haven’t seen it already, be sure to visit the homepage. From there you can easily find freebies, popular posts, Pinerest pins and so much more!
We are still working a few things out, so please let me know if you see a dead link or something that is clearly not quite right. Also, please let me know what you think. I will be tweaking things here and there and would love your suggestions.
Love the branding! I have to tell you that I was having a discussion at work about critical thinking, or the lack of it. My group at Nordstrom is going through reorganization, with dramatic change. As part of this people were commenting in this discussion that critical thinking is missing. Probably a normal reaction when the people doing the reorganization are not very transparent to the people getting reorganized.
Me, I went to Minds in Bloom to see if I could score some Critical Thinking resources to help educate our supposed highly educated work force on the topic 🙂 But it seems like critical thinking is not a theme of Minds in Bloom. Is this a change? Wasn’t critical thinking a former theme, are there still resources that can educate on the process of critical thinking, maybe even some oriented to adults?
I hope you are doing well, love the site overall.
Hey there Dewayne, Great to hear from you!
Yes, the original focus of Minds in Bloom was facilitating creative and critical thinking skills in kids, but it has evolved to align with my passion for making learning fun for students and of course for teachers too! There are still some posts in the archives on higher-level thinking, but I am not sure how much would apply to adults.
I didn’t realize that you were still at Nordstroms. I hope that is going well for you, despite the apparent lack of critical thinking skills. Thanks for the kind words about the site. Moving to WordPress is a big step!
