These 12 words (trace, describe, explain, formulate, support, summarize, compare, contrast, infer, predict, analyze, and evaluate) are frequently featured in standardized test questions as well as other critical thinking activities.
This resource includes posters and reference cards (printed 4 to a page) to help your students understand each word. Definitions, examples, and related words are included. Everything is offered in both color and in black and white. Compilation posters in portrait are also provided.
Suggestions for Use:
Use the posters on bulletin boards or word walls. You might also want to focus on just one word each week. The reference cards can be put on rings, with each student having his or her own set. These could also be used in interactive notebooks.
