Suggestions for use:

  • Decorate your classroom. Swap out the posters on a regular basis to feature different studentsโ€™ work.
  • See if your admiration will allow you to post colored posters in other parts of the school such as the office, lunchroom, hallways, etc.
  • Feature a different poster each week or month. Have all your students color the same poster and display them all over your room. Consider discussing the poster while the students are coloring. It will be fun to see the different ways your students color the posters and seeing the same statement over and over again will really help them to internalize it.
  • Allow students to color posters during indoor recess, read-aloud, or as a calming activity. Students can take posters home to decorate their own rooms.
  • Add a writing component by requiring students to fill out the included reflection pages before coloring a poster or use the statements on the poster as a writing prompt for journals or paragraph writing.
  • Use fine-tipped markers or colored pencils for coloring. Perhaps you have โ€œspecialโ€ markers or pencils that you could let students use for this project.

Hereโ€™s what teachers are saying:

โœ๏ธ “My students loved working on these as soon as they finished the rest of their work. Once done, I laminated them and posted them up in the room. I think I might print out one now to help with stress relieving!” -Catherine S.

โœ๏ธ “I have enjoyed coming home after a stressful day and coloring these. I also enjoyed coloring these with my own children before school started this year as decorations for my classroom.” -Michelle W.

โœ๏ธ “Great for helping my students move from a fixed mindset. I would use them as a discussion point in morning meeting and then post them in the classroom as a more long term reminder. Kids would refer to them!” -Liza M.
