Description
Here are 32 task cards (print or digital) that are great for back to school (or anytime) to help your students internalize classroom rules. Each card features a different rule. The rules are fairly broad, so most, if not all of them should apply to your class. A few of them are more about attitude/citizenship than actual rules (for example, card number 31 says, “In our class we know that everyone is unique and important.”). The rules are also all worded using positive language, so students are focusing on what they should be doing, not what they shouldn’t.

There are many ways to use these cards. You can give one to each student and have them pair-share or share in small groups. You could use them with the whole group by displaying one card at a time on the document camera. You could make them into a center activity. They would also make great journal prompts and of course there is also the class book option.
The cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.
