This is a great paper-based OR digital activity to have your students work on during those first days back to school in 2022 and then keep as a memento of their start of third grade.
For the paper-based version, students will create a flipbook with tabs that spell out THIRD. On each page, there is a hashtag. Students will use the hashtag to describe their feelings about 3rd grade. There are several sentence stems to help the students get their thoughts on paper. There is also a place to draw a small picture. Afterward, students will color, cut, and assemble their booklet!
For the digital version, you can assign the booklet in Google Slides. Students will type their feelings about third grade and can paste pictures they’ve taken with the device camera or pictures they’ve found online.
This is a great activity to have out on the students’ desks that first day of school or to share through Google Classroom so students can work from home.
