Description
These text evidence task cards are for helping students practice finding evidence in a chunk of text! Each card has a paragraph of nonfiction text and prompts the student to find which sentence in the paragraph is the best evidence for answering the given question.
These cards each tell about an interesting animal. Because the text is scientific in nature, it’s great for challenging the students’ reading. Audio support is included to help students that may struggle with reading.
Because of the scientific vocabulary, this resource is likely not suitable for students in third grade or below.
To make these task cards reusable, you can laminate them and have students use a dry-erase marker to highlight the correct sentence.

This was great! My students really struggle to choose relevant text evidence that supports their answer, and this resource was super helpful to get them to understand how to choose appropriate evidence.

I generally really like work by Minds In Bloom, and these cards are nicely done. However, several of my students complained that the cards felt crowded and hard to read, so I will look at presenting the material differently next year.
