Description
This money-saving bundle of 3 sets of Reading Response printables (68 student pages) can be used with any chapter book!
They are great for independent reading programs like Readers Workshop and for small group reading too. They are the perfect way to keep your students accountable for their reading when you don’t have a literature guide. They are also great for close reading with plenty of higher-order thinking and text-dependent questions.
This bundle includes 3 resources:
- Reading Responses Set 1: These reading response worksheets are the perfect, ready-to-use way to keep your students accountable for what they are reading. Just what you need if you use an independent reading program such as Reader’s Workshop or have multiple small reading groups.
- Reading Responses Set 2: Just like the first set of reading response printables, this set is jam-packed with ready-to-use, fun, and effective activities to keep your students accountable for their reading. They will love the character report card, dig deep into point of view, and explore figurative language, all using whatever books they are currently reading. Great for differentiating different levels or for independent reading programs such as Readers Workshop. Works with close reading selections too!
- Reading Responses Set 3: This third set of reading response printables includes 20 pages that can be used with any fictional chapter book. The pages are designed to be used at the end of a chapter or at the end of the entire book. They are jam-packed with higher-level thinking and will help your students to explore settings, characters, plot, theme, connections and more! These are great when you don’t have a literature guide or comprehension questions, or to supplement materials you do have. Perfect for differentiating for independent reading or small groups. Most of these will also work well for close reading – plenty of text-dependent questions and opportunities to dig deep into the text.

Here’s what teachers are saying:
✏️ “The activities included in this bundle were a great way for my third graders to show me their understanding of the chapters read from one of our class novels. It’s a good break from typical question and answer type novel units. The kids really enjoyed using this!” -Somare M.
✏️ “I teach in a small school and have multiple grades in one classroom. This resource allowed me the ability to have all of the upper grades focus on the same lesson even if they were reading different books for reading class. I appreciate the presentation of the material! It helps to spice up the topics! I love the creativity that it allows students!” -Brittany P.
✏️ “Another great resource. I know I can count on this seller to deliver quality products. Everything I have bought from her has been valuable to me.” -Reta H.

Ashley Lafleur –
These are AWESOME! I love that they are generic enough to use with any book, but the skill pages are also very rigorous, making students really think about the book and all its parts. The questions are specific enough to encourage critical thinking, but again, it’s great for any and all books! Some could even be used with non-fiction books (about people)! Thank you!

I have all of these available for my students. They enjoy picking which one they would like to choose to demonstrate their understanding of the text we are reading.
