Teaching theme can sound overwhelming, but we are here to help make it easier for your students to find the theme with these 16 short stories AND a writing extension!
This theme reading and writing product includes printable multiple choice task cards, google slides with two options (short answer OR multiple choice) to help your students infer the theme of the story, and 4 writing extension opportunities. Plus, there are audio files that can turn each story into a read aloud!

Theme is a challenging concept. While these cards can be used for individual practice (especially when using the multiple-choice format), you may want to consider using them with your entire class or a small group by reading each story aloud and working together to determine the theme.
