There are 4 different student answer sheets provided. Two of them simply require students to sketch what they see in their minds. The other two also include writing lines so that students can incorporate their other senses and write about what they might hear, smell, feel, or taste. Use the one that works best for you. A visualizing poster, a cover card, and a challenge card you can use to extend the activity are also included.

My students were engaged and enthusiastic with this activity. They loved using this resource in both small groups and whole group learning.
Venessa C. –
My students used this as a whole class activity for practicing visualizing. They loved being able to draw pictures about what they read/heard about. For some, I had to do some prep research before using the card (they had no idea what Mount St. Helen’s was) so they even liked that part of it. Some of the pictures were very imaginative.
Kim P. –
I loved this!!! It was so easy to prepare and my students loved the ones we have done. I like how there are lots so we can do for review or I can add to stations!
Antonia N. –
This resource is great for additional practice or for centers. The audio was great for differentiating for my ELL student.
Kate M. –
I used this during a recent sick day when students needed to review skills we had been practicing for weeks. The students knew what to do and followed the directions easily. I really liked the descriptions, which made visualizing easy for my students.

Love this resource! Love that they are short. I put a few of these on Seesaw and then allowed students to draw what they saw in their minds while reading. Thanks!

This was a helpful resource to address visualizing as a listening comprehension strategy with my speech therapy students. Low preparation was much appreciated. Students were engaged with the themes in the material.
