This resource went over very well with my grade 4s. I was short on copies so had them write their answers on line sheets of papers instead, and to work with small groups so I could listen to their exchanges. It turned out that some groups decided to write almost full paragraph answers to explain why the various items were purchased. Other groups tried to figure out how many people would be participating in the activity, based on the numbers purchased. Some groups quickly worked through the cards finding the basic information. It was a great easy to use, minimal prep activity, that gave me some good insight into their thinking, comments/observations I will be able to use for their June report cards.
