This was a great activity for my 6th graders who had finished all the curriculum for the year and needed something to help them review what they had learned all year. They love Boom Cards and this creator makes high quality materials in that format.

I used this with ESL students who worked in pairs to decide which order to put the words. When they disagreed they practiced their oral language skills to explain their choices.

This has been AWESOME. I liked that I didn’t have to teach. I liked that the students would attempt and if it was wrong they would have to problem solve it. After they got it correct I would discuss with them their ideas if they were up to using their language skills. It was wonderful to use more or less language as needed.

Teaching shades of meaning to EL learners is hard enough! This resource made it much easier and way more engaging than traditional curriculum teacher guides. My students have a MUCH stronger understanding of shades of meaning after completing this presentation. Highly recommend!
