An Elementary Experience –
I used this resource with my above grade-level second grade readers. It can be challenging at this age to understand figurative language because the concepts are more abstract. I felt like most of my students really understood the different types of figurative language after using these pages. I appreciated how many pages there were for each different type of figurative language. It gave me the opportunity to go through some examples together before the students completed anything independently. Figurative language is kind of silly and funny which helped engage them in the lessons. The students really enjoyed learning about and using figurative language with this resource.
