Teacher Tip

Here’s what teachers are saying:

✏️ “I have an extremely active group this year that thrives from scaffolded, differentiated instruction/activities, so I knew this resource was perfect for my students. My reluctant learners seemed to do well with completing one task card at a time, instead of seeing ALL of the work ahead of them on a worksheet. I varied the number of task cards I assigned students based on practice they needed at the time.” -Sarah P.

✏️ “Great examples to use to teach making connections. I used these in small group instruction and students enjoyed responding to these task cards.” -Sarah H.

✏️ “My students use this as comprehension task cards for Reading Groups. The texts are great for their reading level and they love this activity!” -Cui Yean T.

Nice way for students to stay engaged when finished with work.

    2. Kathryn P.

I used this with slightly older students who hadn’t been encouraged to use the skill before. It was really helpful for adding actual value to our literature classes.

    3. Destiny C.

Great for independent practice and small group! My students found it easy to think of connections!

    4. Jonathon Z.

Great digital resource. It was handy to set up as a quick assessment activity in SeeSaw. I love how there are audio recordings of each task card as well!

    5. Jennifer S.

This was so much fun. The students were engaged and learning.

    6. Angela Pallero

I used the task cards for my making connections unit and they were a big success. Began the week doing whole group with the first 3 from each category (text to world, self, text). By the end of the week, they were using the remaining task cards independently in centers. Thank you!

    7. BriAnne L.

A great resource to use with students as they review connections independently while I am working with a small group. Thank you!

    8. Nicole C.

It was easy to use and my students really enjoyed it.

    9. Lauren I.

I liked the diversity in question prompts- it allowed me to differentiate and pick prompts that I know my students could make connections to (especially within text to text!) One thing to add would be some Text to Media cards!

    10. Brandie H.

This resource really helped my students how to make connections with what they read, which helped them better comprehend.
