Teacher Tip

Hereโ€™s what teachers are saying about Would You Rather:

โœ๏ธ “I love this resource because I use it as a brain break and as a filler activity whenever we have extra time. It’s fun, it’s creative and different which makes it more interesting to students, and they learn the conditional tense without ever cracking a textbook! Hooray for CI!” -Deirdre K.

โœ๏ธ “These questions were used as an ice breaker for our first online meeting. The students enjoyed the variety of questions and had a lot of giggles. Will definitely use it in the classroom when social distancing will need to happen and the traditional getting to know you/group work activities wonโ€™t be able to happen this year.” -Amy P.

โœ๏ธ “My students completed one activity per day. They LOVED these prompts. We continued using them once we went to online learning at the end of the year. I will definitely use these next year!!!” -Diane P.

107 reviews for Would You Rather Sampler – Fun Questions for Discussion, Writing Prompts, & More

  1. Susan H.

Used this as class opener and closer. My kids would have heated debates about why their choice was better – the debates become sillier and sillier. It’s always so fun to see how they come up with ideas, and they’re always hilarious.

  2. Sauk Valley Reading Lady

This is a great resource to take attendance, especially at the beginning of the year. Students enjoyed the change in attendance taking when they were able to provide the option of their choice instead of the usual ‘here’ statement.

  3. Jean A.

I love using these during that extra 10-15 minutes between classes or at the end of the day when there is just a little extra time with my students. They love taking turns responding and explaining why they chose their response.

  4. Teaching with Heart CK

Fun would you rather questions that helped us start our day. They helped to get my students talking and were a nice way to start us off.

  5. Elizabeth C.

I have used your would you rather resources as a way to encourge speaking and listening skills as well as giving reasons for you choices.

  6. Jessica H.

My students loved using this as part of our transition work for the new school year. They found it very entertaining and it was also good to use as a way of assessing communication skills as you can extend the questioning easily.

  7. Brittany F.

I loved how simple, easy, fun and engaging this activity is. Students were engaged and had a great time. It helped break up our typical curriculum and added some fun to the day!

  8. Jane L.

My students love would you rather questions. We do these orally or written and usually expand on one particular question through writing.

  9. Rachel Hawver

My students enjoyed this resource. Didn’t take much prep from me and was easy to set up.

  10. Candace S.

I was looking for an engaging way to help my students learn to write thesis statements. This activity kept them interested and helped them understand the basics of writing a thesis. I will use it again!
