Teacher Tip

Hereโ€™s what teachers are saying:

โœ๏ธ “I used these as a scavenger hunt around my room. My students enjoyed moving around, and it served as a great review for them! Thank you!” -Alyssa O.

โœ๏ธ “I just started using these and they are fantastic. I laminated them first, but I love the fact that my kids can underline the clues and then erase once done. They are truly becoming independent learners when they then check their answers and discuss their responses. Thank you :)” -Brenda S.

โœ๏ธ “My students love when they get to work on your task cards. I love that they are having fun while learning. These context clues cards are great! Thank you!” -Linda E.

60 reviews for Context Clues Task Cards and Anchor Chart Print and Digital with Audio Support

  1. Heather J.

My students loved using this resource! They were engaged in the resource and had no trouble getting started. It didn’t take much time to prep this resource, so it was easy for me to use with my students.

  2. Sunshine in 2nd

Great for review – my kids did this as an independent center over the course of a couple of days. Quick to score and helped me figure out which students to pull for some extra help.

  3. Siobhan M.

Another great resource. Students with reading issues were able to listen and select the correct answer without assistance!

  4. Kathleen S.

Ascertaining the meaning of unknown vocabulary is difficult for students. Teaching them to use context clues is a valuable skill. This resource provided a great guided practice.

  5. Rebecca L.

I used this during small group time as a ‘Write the Room’ activity. I only used the first half of the cards last week, and will repeat the lesson this week with the other half of the cards. Thank you for creating this!

  6. Hannah A.

I set these cards up around the classroom as task cards. I split my students up into small groups, and they rotated around the room until they had completed the given task cards for that day. These were really beneficial for them, and covered Context Clues very well.

  7. Jaime M.

I liked the different levels for this resource. There were answer choice options and ones without choices. This was really helpful when working with different levels in groups.

  8. Mrs Clarks Chaos

I have continuously used this resource as bell ringers, exit tickets, and more. I really love task cards and the flexibility of uses they have. My students have loved playing ‘travel’ rotating through the questions and I’ve loved that we are working directly on a difficult standard.

  9. Robert P.

My kids like task cards. This was a great resource to use when practicing context clues. I like that there is a printable and digital option. I also like that there is audio support.

  10. Leasha W.

Vocabulary is an area of weakness that repeatedly causes many students to be less successful. We cannot ‘overteach’ vocabulary!!! The context clues task cards are perfect. I especially like the multiple ways of addressing the skill on one task card. The word is used in a sentence, then the word is bold and isolated, then the options of which meaning fits within the specific content allows them to analyze and actually think about each choice before making a decision!! Students are definitely benefiting!!!! Thank you!!
